Where do I begin.....Lets start with the fact that this is a married couple that fights crime together. I haven't read many books about established couples let alone a couple that goes into the dark underbelly of the world to rid us of the scum that walks the earth so right away I was intrigued. When I found out that she was on an undercover mission with the CIA when they met that grabbed me even more, but what was the final pull for me was the fact that he stood by her and let her do what she needed to do without going all alpha male on her. I loved that so much because she was one tough woman and he showed that he had faith in her capabilities by working along side her instead of bossing her around. Mason gets major points for that because you know that cannot be easy for a man like him.
Jessa, strong and capable of bringing down the most feared men but one thing I didn't like about her was she made a MAJOR life changing decision without talking to her husband first. I had an issue with this because it has an impact on his life as well not just hers and I thought it was a bit selfish of her to do things without his knowledge, but things worked out and there wasn't even a little bit of angst over it...just totally my own hangup about it.
Although we have our HEA I am really hoping that the author will give us more of this power duo. I highly recommend this story to anyone that is looking for a quick read that is not only spicy in and out of the bedroom but also enjoys a good romantic suspense because this book will have you rooting for the good guys even when things don't look like they are going to end well.
