If you read An Earl by Any Other Name, the first book in the Sins and Scandals series, you'll remember Owen Hadley, he is trying to find a wife to help restore his family home to it's former glory.
Owen is determined to marry even if it has to look as if he has been in an compromising position with a woman, with her virtue at stake she will be forced to marry. Unscrupulous, yes very much so, but.... while Owen has one woman in mind it turns out that he unknowing walks into the path of another and has to marry her, I would say that the fates were with both Owen and Milly at this point of time.
Lauren Smith is my go to author for Historical Romances for many reasons, because, as she proves yet again with this wonderful story, she has a gift for transporting you back in time and making you feel as if you are really there. This has been a fun series to read and I look forward to the next book A Scottish Lord for Christmas, Rowena Pepperwirth and Quinn MacCauley, which is due out in early December.
